Women Place 15th, Men 12th at Eagle Invitational
Evans runs program's second-fastest time ever
  

Charles Evans's 27:38 is the second-fastest ever at LFC.
LISLE, IL - The Forester cross country teams competed in the Eagle Invitational on Friday (October 5th). The women's team placed 15th and the men finished 12th at the 22-team meet, which was hosted by Benedictine University.

St. Joseph's University took home the women's team title with 51 points, followed by North Central College (84) and Millikin University (128).

The top four Foresters finished within 39 seconds of one another. Sophomore Lee Winklepleck (Shaker Heights, OH/Hathaway Brown) led the way with a time of 22:04 on the 5-kilometer course. Next on the team was junior Melissa Brown (Cape Coral, FL/Cape Coral) at 22:27, followed by freshman Olga Miukhaylov (Chicago, IL/Stevenson) at 22:28 and junior Molly Sutherland (St. Paul, MN/Visitation) at 22:43. All four ran season-best times.

In the men's race, Lewis University scored just 20 points to finish in first place as a team. North Central College (62) and St. Joseph's University (116) were second and third, respectively.

Senior Charles Evans (Asheville, NC/Carolina Day School) was the top Forester, completing the 8-kilometer course in 27:38, the second-fastest time in school history. Juniors Eric Crawley (Braintree, MA/Thayer) and Rob Bahde (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield) also posted season-bests with times of 28:54 and 29:28, respectively.

Next Saturday (October 13th) the team will run in the UW-Parkside Invite in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
