Season-Best Times at Loyola Lakefront Invitational
The team champion in the women's race was the University of Missouri while Loyola was able to keep the men's championship trophy. While Lake Forest was overmatched by the many scholarship-awarding schools as well as some of the best in Division III, each of the eight women and seven men that competed for the Foresters posted season-best times. Senior Erin Motzer (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) was the top female finisher for Lake Forest, completing the 5-kilometer course in 21:34, just 12 seconds ahead of junior Lee Winklepleck (Shaker Heights, OH/Hathaway Brown). Sophomore Olga Mikhaylov (Chicago, IL/Stevenson), freshman Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) and senior Kat McCauley (Golden Valley, MN/St. John's) rounded out the team's top five. In the men's 8-kilometer race, senior Eric Crawley (Braintree, MA/Thayer) passed up freshman Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) late in the race to lead the squad. Crawley finished in 28:14 while Meiring was just three seconds back. Their times rank 16th and 17th in the school history. Sophomore Logan Dick's (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic) time of 28:51 was more than a minute faster than his previous career-best. Junior Beau Llewellyn (Oro Station, ON/Eastview Secondary School) and senior Rob Bahde (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield) completed the Foresters' top five on Saturday. Lake Forest will look to continue cutting seconds and even minutes off its times next Saturday (October 12) at the Carthage Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The women's 5-kilometer race will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the men's 8K will follow. Forester Results: Women
