Lake Forest Competes in Benedictine Eagle Invitational
Forester Women place eighth, men ninth

LISLE, Ill. - The Forester cross country teams competed in Benedictine University’s Eagle Invitational on Friday (October 5). The Lake Forest women placed eighth in the event and the men ninth. St. Mary’s University won the women’s team competition and North Central College the men’s.

Freshman Brecklind Golovich-Keie (East Jordan, Mich./Charlevoix) was the first Forester female to cross the line in the 6-kilometer race. She placed 38th overall with a time of 28:29. Junior Sarah Marrinan (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Cathedral) was next on the squad in 64th place with a time of 30:46 and sophomore Grace Schlafly (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) finished just three places and 15 seconds later. Junior Synneve Yoder (Murray, Neb./Conestoga) was 75th in 31:51 and freshman Joanne Michaud (Miami, Fla./Pembroke Pines) 78th in 32:19.

Freshman Kahiye Hassan (Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) led the men’s team in 21st place overall with an 8-kilometer time of 29:09. Freshman Gil Reynders (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade College Prep) was next at 32:13 in 70th place and junior Andrew Hutchinson (Redwood City, Calif./Sequoia) finished three places and 10 seconds later. Junior Levi Paul (Austin, Minn./Governor Dummer) was 77th with a time of 32:44 and freshman Michael Frederick (Winnetka, Ill./Roycemore School) rounded out the Foresters’ top five with an 86th-place time of 33:09.

Lake Forest will preview the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional course at the UW-Oshkosh Open next Saturday (October 13). The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
