September 17, 2005 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Previews MWC Championship Course at Les Duke Invite With a time of 24:27, junior Katie Snowden (Toronto, ON/York Mills Collegiate Institution) finished 11th overall broke her own school record for 6-kilometer courses. Senior Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) was next on the team in 53rd place with a time of 26:36. Freshman Mackenzie Keeley (Calgary, AB/Lord Beaverbrook), junior Leann Kimmons (Centennial, CO/Eaglecrest), and sophomore Amalia Vriend (King City, ON/Cardinal Carter Catholic) were all separated by just four places and seven seconds. Keeley finished 67th in 27:18, on place and two seconds in front of Kimmons. Vriend placed 70th in 27:25. Senior Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) was the men’s team’s top runner in 70th place with an 8-kilometer time of 29:14. Freshman Andrew Hutchinson (Redwood City, CA/Sequoia) placed 84th in 29:54 and broke 30 minutes for the first time in his career. Senior Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity), freshman Asa Reynolds (Bethesda, MD/Walt Witman), and sophomore Grant Shaw (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) rounded out the Foresters’ top five in 103rd, 118th, and 128th places, respectively. After taking a weekend off of racing, Lake Forest will compete in Loyola University’s Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Saturday, October 1.
