Senior Katie Snowden (Toronto, Ontario/York Mills Collegiate Institution) continued to be the Foresters’ top female runner. She placed 39th out of 379 competitors with a 5-kilometer time of 19:28, the fourth-fastest mark in team history. Freshman Diane Stajszczak (Boulder City, Nev./Boulder City) placed 101st in 20:26 and senior Leann Kimmons (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest) finished just eight places and as many seconds later. Liz Martinez (Chicago, Ill./Cristo Rey Jesuit), another senior, was fourth on the team and 183rd in the meet with a time of 21:37 and junior Samantha Yozze (Lemont, Ill./College of Dupage) rounded out the squad’s top five in 201st place with a time of 21:52. Each of the 11 Forester women competing in the race ran her season-best time. Lake Forest’s top three runners on the men’s side also ran season-best times. They were led by sophomore Andrew Hutchinson’s (Redwood City, Calif./Sequoia) 165th-place finish and 8-kilometer time of 29:10. He became the fourth team member in as many races to lead the squad. Freshman John Thies (Los Angeles, Calif./Saint Francis) crossed the line just eight places and seven seconds later. Sophomore Curt Miller (Reno, Nev./Sage Ridge School) was third on the team in 202nd place with a time of 29:47. The squad’s fourth and fifth runners were sophomores Asa Reynolds (Bethesda, Md./Walt Witman) and Levi Paul (Austin, Minn./Governor Dummer), who placed 241st and 245th in 30:42 and 30:54, respectively. The Foresters will compete in Benedictine University’s Eagle Invitational on Friday (October 6) at 3:30 p.m. before hosting the eighth annual Forester Invitational at 11:00 a.m. the next Saturday (October 14).
