Foresters Open 2001 Season at St. Norbert's Tom Barry Invitational
Men place 6th of 16, Women finish 7th of 15

GREEN BAY, WI - The Lake Forest College cross country teams traveled to Green Bay, WI on Saturday (September 8th) to compete in the Tom Barry Invitational, hosted by St. Norbert College. The Forester women finished in seventh place out of 15 teams while the men placed sixth out of 16. Lawrence University was the team champion in the women's race and host St. Norbert College won the men's race.

In the women's race, Junior Erin Motzer (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) was the top Lake Forest runner, completing the 5K course in 21:58 and in 33rd place overall. Two newcomers to the team, senior Cristina Roti (Chicago, IL/New Trier) and freshman Olga Mikhaylov (Chicago, IL/Stevenson) were the next two Foresters to cross the line. Junior Molly Sutherland (St. Paul, MN/Visitation) and freshman Andrea Lindblom (Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) rounded out the team's top five.

Senior Charles Evans (Asheville, NC/Carolina Day School) was the first Forester finisher in the men's four-mile race. Evans placed 16th overall with a time of 23:00. Fellow senior Joe Zemaitis (Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon) was next on the team, followed by juniors Eric Crawley (Braintree, MA/Thayer) and Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy). Freshman Logan Dick (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic) was Lake Forest's number five runner.

Both teams were missing runners due to injuries. They hope to be back at full force next Saturday (September 15th) when they compete in the Les Duke Invitational, hosted by Grinnell College.
