TIM PENTZ NAMED MWC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lake Forest College freshman Tim Pentz, a 5-10, 170 pound cornerback from West Dundee, IL (Dundee Crown High School), has been named the Midwest Conference Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week. He shares the honor with Lawrence's Jeff Divjak. Pentz had two interceptions and a 60-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown during Lake Forest's 27-7 victory at Illinois College on Saturday (Oct. 23). Pentz also recorded four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) and had a pass break-up. He played a major role in limiting Illinois College to 168 yards of total offense (238 yards under their season average in the MWC) and 2.4 yards per play. Lake Forest was particularly dominant in the second half, holding IC to -6 yards of total offense. Illinois College had four drives of 40 or more yards, and Pentz stopped one (their longest non-scoring drive) with his 60-yard fumble recovery and thwarted another with an interception. Pentz totaled 112 yards (60 yards on the fumble recovery, 20 yards on two interception returns, 27 yards on one kickoff return, and 5 yards on one punt return) on the afternoon.
