Eric McDonald Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman led his team in scoring the last two games

Eric McDonald poured in 46 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in his last 2 games.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men's basketball player Eric McDonald (Elk Grove, IL/Elk Grove) was named the Forester Athlete of the Week after a three-game stretch in which he averaged 18.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, shot 57.9% from the floor and recorded a double-double (points and rebounds).

McDonald scored 10 points in only 14 minutes of play in a 74-59 Midwest Conference win over Carroll College (January 25), but the next two games were where he truly excelled. He pulled down 9 rebounds and made 10 of 15 field goals and 4 of 5 free throws to score 25 points in a January 26 loss to league-leading St. Norbert College. Tuesday he followed up with 21 points and 10 rebounds as he led the Foresters to an important MWC victory over Monmouth College (85-75). McDonald averaged 23 points and 9.5 rebounds in those two games and shot 50% or better in all three games. Of his 22 rebounds, 12 were on the offensive end. For the season he is the team's leading scorer and second leading rebounder.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
