Coaching Staff The 2008-2009 season will be the second for Forester assistant coach Kaniela Aiona. Aiona is directly involved in recruiting, post player development and scouting. He coached then freshman Travis Clark to Honorable Mention All-MWC honors last season. Aiona came to Lake Forest after serving a graduate assistantship at Central Methodist University. He was a key component in all aspects of the program and served as assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach. Aiona was also responsible for fundraising and strength and conditioning and was also promoted to recruiting coordinator. On the floor he specialized in post player development and helped develop a first team all-conference and Honorable Mention All-American player in the 2007-08 campaign. Aiona was a four-year letter winner at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and also served as an assistant coach for a year at his alma mater. At Webster, Aiona was named team captain and the forward ended his career in the program's top 10 in several career offensive and defensive categories and earned multiple all-conference honors. Kaniela graduated from Webster in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in advertising and marketing communication.
