Lake Forest Finishes Season with Double-Overtime Loss at Wheaton
Thunder score game’s only goal in 103rd minute

Wheaton, Ill. – The Forester men’s soccer team closed out the 2006 season with a 1-0 double-overtime loss at Wheaton College Friday (October 27) night. Lake Forest posted a 7-7-2 overall record on the year. The Thunder raised their mark to 10-7-3.

After a pair of scoreless 45-minute halves and one 10-minute overtime period, Wheaton kicked in the contest’s only goal 2:52 into the second extra period.

Lake Forest junior Jacob Elperin (Highland Park, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) matched his career-high with 10 saves in the contest.

It was the program’s seventh consecutive non-losing season and 11th in head coach Ed Kositzki’s 13 years at the helm of the program.
