Victory at Benedictine University is Number 100 for Kositzki
Foresters knock off the Eagles 2-1

Ed Kositzki is just the second Forester coach with 100 wins.
LISLE, IL - The Forester men's soccer team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 2-1 victory Tuesday (September 9) at Benedictine University. It was the 100th career victory for tenth-year head coach Ed Kositzki. He ranks second in the program's history in career wins.

The Foresters got on the scoreboard first at the 18:34 mark on an unassisted goal by freshman forward Walter Echeverry's (Glenview, IL/Maine Township East), his fourth of the season. Senior midfielder Phil Schwab (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers College H.S.) scored for the first time this season on a penalty kick just seven minutes later to give the visitors a two-goal advantage.

Junior goalkeeper Eric Booth (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson) had two saves in the first half and three in the second before allowing Benedictine's only goal of the game with just two seconds remaining in the contest.

Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 13) at Ripon College. The game will begin at 2:30 p.m. The Foresters finished 6-3 in the league last year while Ripon was 2-7. Lake Forest hosted and defeated the Red Hawks 4-0 in the regular season finale.
