200 was a good number for junior Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis). He was an iron man for the men's team, competing in five individual races and four relays. He recorded personal season-bests in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.69) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.93) and clocked the Foresters' best time this year with a 2:06.24 in the 200 butterfly. He swam on two of the three relay teams that posted Lake Forest top times for the season. Seniors Anthony Laurino (Wichita, KS/Wichita East) and Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy) combined to score 53.5 points for the men. Laurino's season-best times of 17:50.95 in the 1650 freestyle and 5:09.23 in the 500 free were good for 8th and 16th place, respectively. Johnson was 9th in the 1650 freestyle (17:55.06) and 14th in the 500 free (5:04.63). The workhorse for the Lake Forest women's team was Erin Poynter (Fort Collins, CO/Ft. Collins). She swam season-best times in four of her five individual races and competed in all five relays. She even swam an extra race because a swim-off was necessary to determine the last qualifier for the finals of the 200-yard individual medley. Her time in the swim-off, 2:20.12, was the team's fastest this year. Leading the way in scoring for the women were Erin Motzer (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) with 27.5 points and Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) with 22.5. Motzer recorded the highest Forester finish of the meet, a 5th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.76), and placed 15th in the 1650 free (19:07.49). Lindsey finished 11th in the 1650 free with a time of 18:54.49, another Lake Forest best this season. She was 13th in the 400-yard IM (5:00.55) and 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.96). The Foresters' next venture is their training trip to Nassau, Bahamas. They will return to Wheaton for their next competition, a January 18 quad meet.
