Eric Boarini Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior won 12th and 13th titles in final MWC Championship Meet

College history.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College swimmer Eric Boarini (Wadsworth, IL/Carmel) was named Forester Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet last weekend (February 14-16). The senior sprinter concluded his stellar career by claiming two conference titles and leading his team in scoring with 70.5 points. 

Boarini was the only Forester swimmer on the men's side to win two events, and he fell just short of sweeping the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles for the third consecutive year. His championships came in the 50 (21.65) and 200 (1:44.06). Despite swimming a career-best time of 47.58 in the 100 free, Boarini was edged out by .07 of a second. 

In his three seasons of competition at Lake Forest, Boarini won an impressive eight individual conference crowns and was part of five championship relay teams. His best times in the 50- (21.56) and 200-yard freestyles (1:43.65) are third on the College's top times list and his 47.58 in the 100 ranks fifth. He was also a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that clocked the fastest time (7:05.26) in Forester history.
