Sophomore won national championship in 3-meter diving

Kendall Swett earned national "Diver of the Year" honors.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College diver Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (March 16) for her performance at the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet the previous weekend (March 9-11).

Swett, a sophomore, started the meet with a third-place All-American finish in Thursday’s 1-meter diving competition with a career-best score of 437.60. The 3-meter event began on Friday and ended Saturday with Swett on the top step of the award podium. Her score of 489.00 points was not only the highest mark in the field, but also an NCAA Division III record.

Swett was named “Diver of the Year” at the meet and her coach, Susan Bromberg, earned diving coach of the year honors. Swett’s classmate Maggie Rezac (Omaha, NE/Marian) was also an All-American in both events, placing seventh off the 1-meter board and eighth in the 3-meter competition. They combined to score all 59 of Lake Forest’s team points and the Foresters tied for 18th place at the meet.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. It was Swett’s third such honor of the season and fourth of her career.
