Foresters Open Season Against Wesleyan and Benedictine
Men defeat both teams, women split

Brandon Johnson won the
two distance events.
LISLE, IL - The Lake Forest College swim teams began their seasons with a triangular meet hosted by Benedictine University on Friday (November 9th). Illinois Wesleyan was the third school at the meet. The Forester men's team defeated both schools and the women finished ahead of Benedictine but behind Wesleyan.

Freshman Emily Woods (Signal Mountain, TN/Girls Prep) and senior Randi Estes (LaBelle, FL/Riverdale) were the two event-winners for the women's team. Woods took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:20.87. She also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley and was on the second-place 400-yard medley relay team. Estes was the first to the wall in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:30.41. She also placed second in the 200-yard freestyle and was on the second-place 400-yard freestyle relay team.

Individual event-winners on the men's side included junior Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:42.97) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:13.97). Junior Eric Boarini (Wadsworth, IL/Carmel) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.21) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.92). Sophomores Joe Isaacs (Shorewood, MN/Breck) and Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis) won the 50-yard freestyle (22.94) and 200-yard backstroke (2:05.47), respectively. Each of the four men also swam on either the 400-yard medley or 400-yard freestyle relays, which both finished first.

After (hopefully) getting a good night's sleep, both teams will be in action again tomorrow (November 10th) afternoon when they host Carthage College at 1:00 pm.
