LAKE FOREST, IL - The 2004 All-Midwest Conference volleyball teams were released Tuesday (November 16) and four Foresters made the list, including seniors Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) and Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew), who were each named to the first team.

Amy Krueger led Lake Forest with 381 kills this season, the fifth-highest total in the program’s history. Her 519 digs were good for second on the squad and fourth in the team’s 29 years. Krueger’s per-game averages in kills and digs during MWC play ranked second and eighth in the league, respectively. She played in more games (429) than any player in school history and ranked second with 1,436 career digs, seventh with 125 aces, and ninth with 729 kills.

Andrea Krueger set a single-season school record with 1,328 assists this year and led the conference with 12 per game in league play. She was also third on the squad in aces and fourth in digs. She completed her career ranked second in school history in assists and third in aces.

Junior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) and freshman Nicole Baich (Westchester, IL/Nazareth Academy) were each named to the second team after school record-setting seasons. Miller’s 668 digs were the most in the program’s history and she also moved into first place in the team’s record books with 1,465 in her three-year career. Her 54 aces in 2004 were also the second-highest total on the squad. Baich recorded a school record 60 solo blocks this year and, with 117 total blocks, was well on her way to breaking the program’s single-season record of 125 before missing the team’s final seven matches due to illness. Despite missing one of nine league matches, she finished the season third in the MWC in total blocks and first in solos.

It marked the ninth consecutive season that Lake Forest players have garnered at least two First Team All-MWC honors. The Foresters’ four overall selections match the 1999, 2001, and 2003 teams for the most in the program’s history.
