LAKE FOREST, IL - The Midwest Conference announced its end-of-season awards Tuesday (November 18) and the Lake Forest College volleyball team was well represented. Two Foresters were named to the first team, two were second team selections, and Head Coach Beth Pier was named MWC Coach of the Year.

Seniors Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) and Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) were each first team selections for the second straight year. They are the only two players in Lake Forest volleyball history to reach the 1,000-mark in both career kills and digs. Metzger led the 2003 team with 408 kills and a school record 599 digs, 194 more than the previous mark. She finished her career ranked second in school history in career digs, third in kills, sixth in blocks, and seventh in aces. Anderson, who also earned second team all-conference honors in 2001, finished her career as the program's all-time leader with 1,374 career kills and 1,368 digs and is second in career aces. She also ranked second on the 2003 squad with 344 kills and third in both digs and aces.

Senior Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton), a repeat member of the league's second team, was the team's leader in blocks (107) for the second consecutive season while ranking second in hitting percentage and third in kills. She is third in school history in career blocks and is the only Forester to record at least 100 blocks in two different seasons. Junior Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) earned her first all-conference selection and joined Harper on the second team. She finished the year with 1,285 assists, just nine fewer than the school record. She averaged 11.13 assists per game in conference play, the second-highest mark in the league

Pier earned MWC Coach of the Year honors for the fifth time in the last seven years (1997, 1999-2001, 2003). She has received the award each year her squad captured the conference championship, which was an especially impressive feat in 2003 since the team held the #5 seed entering the tournament. She now has a record of 190-99 in her 10-year career and a 42-16 mark in league contests.
