ROCK ISLAND, IL - A long weekday road trip to Rock Island and a regionally ranked opponent proved to be a tough combination for the Lake Forest College volleyball team Thursday night (October 11). The Foresters' poor ball control kept them from mounting an effective offensive attack, leading to a 31-33, 23-30, 23-30 loss to the Vikings of Augustana College.

Only one Lake Forest player, sophomore outside hitter Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) reached double figures in kills with 11. The other bright spot was senior middle blocker Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls), who registered 8 kills and only 1 error in 18 attempts. Setter Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/ Marian Catholic) tallied 30 assists and first-year defensive specialist Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) added 3 aces.

The Foresters will take their 15-11 record into a Tuesday, October 16, home match versus Wheaton College. They will attempt to avenge a loss to the Thunder in the season-opening Elmhurst Invitational. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
