LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester volleyball team fell 25-21, 25-13, 25-10 at home to Elmhurst College Thursday night (October 1) and is now 3-14 overall this season. The Bluejays raised their record on the year to 8-9.

The first set was close throughout, with Elmhurst pulling away by as many as five points just once at 20-15. After a Forester time out, the home team closed to within three points at 20-17, 21-18, and 24-21 but could not complete the comeback. The Foresters led 8-6 in the second set before surrendering the next seven and 15 of the next 19 points.

Elmhurst outscored the home team 14-1 midway through the third set to put the match out of reach.

Mulliner led Lake Forest with five kills in the contest and recorded her 200th career block. Sophomore Theresa Converse (Warrentown, Va./Notre Dame Academy) had a pair of aces and junior setter Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) finished with a dozen assists.

The Foresters will host another non-conference match against Milwaukee School of Engineering Monday night (October 5) at 7:00. The annual Homecoming Pep Rally will be held after the match.
