Lake Forest 6-1 in MWC after Three-Game Sweep at Knox
Team records .330 hitting percentage on the night

Kendra Casey is closing in on 1,000 assists on the season.
GALESBURG, IL - The Forester volleyball posted a convincing 30-14, 30-18, 30-18 victory at Knox College Friday (October 14) night. Lake Forest raised its overall record to 16-9 and its Midwest Conference mark to 6-1. The Prairie Fire fell to 3-20 overall and 1-7 in league play.

Junior Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) and sophomore Nicole Baich (Westchester, IL/Nazareth Academy) each sat out one game but still tied for the team lead with nine kills apiece. They combined for just three attack errors and a .429 hitting percentage. Junior Savanna Shumaker (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) and senior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) were next on the squad with eight and seven kills, respectively, and each added a pair of aces. Miller also led Lake Forest with 10 digs.

Senior Molly Smith (Watsonville, CA/Watsonville) led the team with three blocks. Junior Kendra Casey (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa West) tallied 29 assists in the match and is just 46 away from 1,000 for the season. Her setting helped the Foresters record a .330 hitting percentage, their second-highest mark of the year.

Lake Forest will continue conference play next Thursday (October 20) at home against Illinois College. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
