Nicole Baich Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Junior posted 20+ kills in both league matches on Saturday

Nicole Baich
Lake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest College volleyball player Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (October 17) for her contributions to three Forester victories, including two in league play, over the previous seven days.

Baich, a junior middle blocker, began the week by recording 14 kills, two aces, and three blocks in a five-game victory over the University of Chicago on Tuesday (October 10).

On Saturday (October 14), Lake Forest defeated Lawrence University in three games and St. Norbert College in four at the Midwest Conference Crossover II at Beloit College. Baich pounded out 20 kills, one shy of the school record for a three-game match, against Lawrence and 23 against St. Norbert. She also added three more blocks in each match.

Baich is second on the team with 308 kills so far this season and needs just 32 more to reach 1,000 for her career. She also leads the squad for the third straight season in blocks and is just six solo blocks away from match her own single-season school record.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Baich also earned the award once last season and once as a freshman.
