Lake Forest Defeats Grinnell College in Three Games
Nicole Baich records 1,000th career kill

Lake Forest, Ill. - The Forester volleyball team defeated Grinnell College 30-22, 30-21, 31-29 at home Saturday (October 21) afternoon in the Foresters’ final home match of the season. The team raised it overall record on the year to 14-12 and its Midwest Conference mark to 6-2. The Pioneers fell to 3-25 overall and 0-9 in the league.

Junior Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) pounded out a match-high 19 kills in the contest, registered a .500 hitting percentage on the day, and added three blocks. Her first kill of the third game was also the 1,000th of her career, making her just the second player in team history to reach the milestone before her senior season.

Sophomore Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) was next on the Foresters with eight kills and she led the squad with four blocks. Senior Kendra Casey (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wauwatosa West) tallied 39 assists in the final home match of her career and sophomore Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led all players with 28 digs.

Lake Forest will play at Aurora University Tuesday (October 24) night at 7:00 before concluding its regular season schedule with a league match at Illinois College at the same time on Friday (October 27).
