Foresters Fall in Four Sets to Visiting Chicago
Lisa Sturgill named to all-tournament team

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College volleyball team was defeated 25-16, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22 by visiting University of Chicago Thursday night (October 2). The Foresters fell to 3-14 on the season while the Maroons raised their record to 14-6.

Senior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) led the team with 13 kills and sophomore Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) had 10. Mulliner also had a pair of solo blocks, as did junior Megan Fasules (Little Rock, Ark./Pulaski Academy). Senior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) led the home team's setters with 14 assists. Senior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) had 28 digs while junior Nicole Leonard (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Chaminade College Prep.) and freshman Emily Seaman (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) chipped in with 11 apiece.

The Foresters will play three Midwest Conference matches next week. The team will host Carroll University at 7:00 Tuesday night (October 7) and Beloit College 30 minutes earlier on Friday (October 10) before traveling to Grinnell College to take on the Pioneers the next day at 1:00 p.m. Live video webcasts of all three matches will be available at www.midwestconference.tv.
