Head Coach Beth Pier was pleased with her team's offensive production and balance. She commented, "Great ball control allowed Leslie (Boyle) to spread the ball around to her hitters and they were all on tonight. That's tough to defend against." Five Lake Forest hitters had seven or more kills and the team totaled 47 kills and only 9 errors in 109 attempts (.349 hitting percentage). A trio of Foresters combined to register an impressive 26 kills with just one error for a hitting percentage of .472. Sophomore outside hitter Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) pounded ten kills (one error), while seniors Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) and Chrissy Laurine (Richmond, IL/Richmond-Burton) added nine and seven, respectively. Senior Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) led the team with six blocks and 11 kills, while senior setter Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) tallied 38 assists and Anderson had a team-high 18 digs. Lake Forest will play its last regular season match on the road at Grinnell
College Saturday, October 27. A win would give the team, currently 19-11,
a 20-win season for the second consecutive year. A win and a St. Norbert
College loss to Carroll College in their October 24 match would give the
Foresters the number one seed in the Midwest Conference Championship Tournament.
