Foresters fall at Nation’s 23rd-Ranked Team in Four Games
Meghan Miller and Amy Krueger surpass school record for career digs

ELMHURST, IL - The Lake Forest College volleyball team fell 30-23, 26-30, 30-14, 31-29 Thursday (October 28) at Elmhurst College. The Foresters’ record on the year fell to 17-12 while the Bluejays, who are the 23rd-ranked team in the nation (American Volleyball Coaches Association), raised their mark to 23-10.

Lake Forest senior DeAnna Bauer (Naperville, IL/Naperville North) pounded out a team-high 14 kills in the match and added 13 digs and a pair of aces. Sophomore Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) also reached double figures in kills with 12 and had a hand in on each of the squad’s three blocks.

Senior Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) led the Foresters with 23 digs and junior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) was next with 15. While they both surpassed the program's record of 1,368 career digs, Miller got there first and holds a slim 1,377 to 1,371 lead. Senior Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) tallied 44 assists in the match and is just 146 shy of the single-season school record.

The Foresters will play their final regular season match of the year at home Saturday (October 30) morning at 10:00 against Concordia University (IL). The team will likely enter the Midwest Conference Championship Tournament the following weekend (November 5-6) as the number four seed.
