Nicole Baich Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Senior became Lake Forest’s all-time leader in kills

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College volleyball player Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (October 30) for her performance in three Forester matches in a four-day span (October 24-27) against fellow conference foes.

Baich, a senior middle blocker, started the week by recording 13 kills with just two errors in 26 attempts (.423 hitting percentage) against Knox College. The Foresters prevailed in four games and Baich added four blocks, including a pair of solos, and tied her career-high with nine digs.

Lake Forest also won in three games at Illinois College on Friday to clinch a spot in the six-team MWC Tournament. Baich recorded a match-high 17 kills in the contest and added two aces and two blocks.

Finally, in a four-game loss at Monmouth College on Saturday, Baich pounded out 16 more kills to become the Foresters’ all-time leader with 1,376 in her career.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Baich also earned the award once during each of her first three years on the volleyball team and once during each of the last two seasons in basketball.
