Lake Forest Claims Forester Invitational Volleyball Championship
Reinboldt and Frantz named to All-Tournament Team

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College captured the championship at the six-team Forester Volleyball Invitational on Saturday (October 7th). The host Foresters defeated North Park University in three games in the championship match. The two wins Lake Forest needed to advance to the championship match also came via three games. 

Lake Forest's Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) and Sarah Frantz (Lake Geneva, WI/Badger) were named to the All-Tournament team. They were joined by North Park's Kelly Flood and Tanya Yaskoff, St. Norbert College's Katie Carrier, and Angela Meyers from St. Mary's College (IN). 

Reinboldt recorded a remarkable .480 hitting percentage and averaged 4.29 kills per game for the day. She also added five aces, five blocks, and 16 digs. 

Frantz led the Foresters with an amazing 127 assists (14.11 assists/game) and seven aces in nine games.

In the championship match against North Park, Reinboldt recorded 15 kills versus just one error in 21 total attacks for a .667 hitting percentage. She also led the team with four blocks. Frantz distributed 41 assists for the match. Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) added 10 kills and Amanda Taylor (Chico, CA/Pleasant Valley) had nine kills and a team-high 14 digs. 

Lake Forest advanced to the championship with easy victories over Beloit College and St. Mary's College (IN) during pool play. 

Lagerman recorded 12 kills and two blocks versus Beloit, while freshman Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) led a trio of hitters with eight kills apiece against St. Mary's. Lagerman and Reinboldt also had eight kills as Sarah Frantz spread 46 assists amongst 10 hitters in the SMC match. 

In other tournament action, St. Norbert (16-7) defeated St. Mary's (4-17) in three games to claim third place and finish with a 2-1 record for the invite, while Beloit College (6-17) knocked off Concordia University (IL) (3-18) in four games in the fifth place match. 

All three Midwest Conference schools (Lake Forest, St. Norbert, and Beloit) won their final match on Saturday. 

Lake Forest, who improved to 14-5 on the season with Saturday's three wins, will be back in action this Thursday (October 12th) for a cross-town match with Barat College. The match begins at 7:30.
