Lake Forest Volleyball Team Bounces Trinity International in Three Games

DEERFIELD, IL - The Lake Forest volleyball team got back on the winning track on Wednesday (September 13th) with a three-game victory (15-6, 15-9, 15-12) at Trinity International (IL). After winning their first three matches of the season, the Foresters had lost two straight. All of Lake Forest's matches have gone the minimum of three games this season. 

The Foresters improved to 4-2, while Trinity International remained winless at 0-10.

Lake Forest used team hitting percentages of .393 in the first game and .381 in the second game to jump out to an early lead in the match. Ten different players registered at least one kill and Lake Forest hit .289 as a team for the match, their second-highest single-match percentage of the season.

Junior Stephanie Reinboldt's (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) eight kills and four total blocks (1 solo, 3 assist) led the team. She hit .571 for the match. Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) and Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) each contributed seven kills. Metzger added three aces, while Lagerman had three total blocks (0 solo, 3 assist). 

Senior setter Sarah Frantz (Lake Geneva, WI/Badger) dished out 29 assists and served up a season-high five aces. She is now tied for the team lead with nine of the young season.

Casey Neave (Trevor, WI/Westosha Central) led the team with eight digs.

Lake Forest will be back in action this Saturday (September 16th) for two matches at the North Central Triangular. The Foresters will face Benedictine (IL) at 12:30 and North Central at 3:00.
