Lake Forest Avenges Earlier Loss to IWU With Three-Game Win
Foresters Knock Off Sixth-Ranked Team in the Region

BLOOMINGTON, IL - After a three-game (15-0, 15-5, 15-8) loss to Illinois Wesleyan University earlier in the year (September 9th), the Lake Forest College volleyball team turned the tables on IWU with a three-game win (15-9, 15-8, 15-9) of their own on Tuesday night.

The win over Illinois Wesleyan, the sixth-ranked team in the latest NCAA Midwest Regional rankings, was the Foresters' fourth straight victory. Lake Forest improved to 7-2 on the season, while Illinois Wesleyan fell to 8-4.

Lake Forest, who hit just .188 for the match, used a strong serving performance to overcome a lackluster hitting performance. The Foresters totaled 11 aces for the match. Six different Foresters, led by Sarah Frantz's (Lake Geneva, WI/Badger) four, had at least one ace.

Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) led Lake Forest in kills with nine. She also had two aces and four digs. Fellow freshman Casey Neave (Trevor, WI/Westosha Central) recorded eight kills and eight digs, while Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) had seven kills and a team-high four blocks (two solo, two assist). Frantz dished out 28 assists and Chrissy Laurine (Richmond, IL/Richmond-Burton) led the team with 13 digs.

Lake Forest will return to action this Thursday (September 21st) for their 2000 season home opener. The Foresters will host Judson College at 7:00 as part of Homecoming weekend at Lake Forest.
