September 20, 2008 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Drops a Pair at North Park Triangular
Senior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) pounded out a team-high eight kills against Loras. Seniro Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) and sophomore Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) shared team-high honors with six assists apiece and sophomore Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) had three solo blocks. Senior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led the squad with 18 digs and freshman Theresa Converse (Warrentown, Va./Notre Dame Academy) added 11. Cretacci recorded a team-high 13 kills and added 10 digs against North Park. Blanchard had 11 assists and Mulliner five blocks, including four solos. Sturgill tallied 26 digs and Converse added a dozen. Sturgill was one of five players named to the all-tournament team. Lake Forest will travel to Mt. Mary College Tuesday (September 23) for a 7:00 p.m. match. The Foresters will then play four matches at the Wheaton College Volleyball Invite on Friday and Saturday (September 26-27).
