Lisa Sturgill
WHEATON, Ill. - The Forester volleyball team fell 25-17, 25-18, 25-7 at Wheaton College on Tuesday (September 2). Lake Forest is now 2-3 on the season and the Thunder raised their mark to 1-4.

Senior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) recorded 11 kills in the contest and has led the Foresters in that category in each of their five matches this season. She also placed the squad with three blocks. Sophomore Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) had 10 assists to lead the setters and senior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) tallied a team-high 17 digs. Her sixth dig of the match gave her 2,000 for her career and she is just the second player in team history to reach that milestone. She is now just 72 digs shy of the program's career record of 2,083.

The Foresters do not play again until next Tuesday (September 9), the team's home opener against Marian College. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
