Volleyball Team Runs Winning Streak to Six Matches
Defeat Visiting Chicago in Four Games 

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College volleyball team beat visiting University of Chicago on Tuesday evening (September 26th) to post their sixth straight victory. Lake Forest, who jumped from eighth to fourth in the latest NCAA Midwest Region Coaches' Poll, needed four games to claim their ninth win of the season. 

Lake Forest improved to 9-2 on the year, while Chicago fell to 2-16. 

The Foresters used seven aces to take the first game, 15-6. After falling behind 1-3 to start the game, Lake Forest took a 7-3 lead. Chicago got within 7-5, but two Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) aces sparked a 7-0 Forester run, capped by three straight aces from Chris Laurine (Richmond, IL/Richmond-Burton). Both Boyle and Laurine finished the match with five aces. Boyle also added a team-high 11 digs, while Laurine chipped in 10 digs.

LF was up 4-0 and 5-3 in the second game, but Chicago then rattled off 12 straight points to even the match at one game apiece.

The Foresters bounced back in the third game with a 15-5 win. 

Lake Forest went out to quick leads of 5-1 and 8-2 in the fourth game before winning 15-5. 

After hitting -.043 in the second game, the Foresters hit .324 in the third game and .459 in the last game. LF hit .294 for the match.

For the match, Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) recorded 13 kills without an error. She hit .722 and added seven blocks. Fellow middle blocker Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) had a team-high 16 kills and hit .591. Freshman Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) contributed 13 kills and four blocks.

Lake Forest will be back in action this weekend for the highly-competitive UW-Whitewater Invitational in Whitewater, WI on Friday and Saturday (September 29-30). The tournament hosts are currently the top-ranked team in the region and second in the nation.
