CHICAGO, IL - The Lake Forest College volleyball team was victorious in a four-game non-conference match at the University of Chicago Wednesday night (30-12, 30-22, 27-30, 30-18). Aggressive serving helped the Foresters establish control early and maintain it throughout the match. Senior setter Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) got things started with a six-point run that included 4 aces, and finished the match with 6 aces, 21 assists and 8 digs. Junior right side hitter Kelly McNiff (Maryland Heights, MO/Pattonville) racked up 5 aces in only two games, contributing to the team's total of 15 for the match.

Leading the offensive attack for Lake Forest was sophomore outside hitter Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino). She recorded 13 kills in 26 attempts (.385 hitting percentage), while first-year outside hitter Amy Krueger came off the bench to register a career-high 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .346. Seniors Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) and Chrissy Laurine (Richmond, IL/Richmond-Burton) led the Forester defense with 6 blocks and 9 digs, respectively.

Wednesday night's win over the Maroons improves the Foresters' record to 7-8 going into the first-ever Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament at Beloit College this weekend. They will face each of the conference's north division teams, beginning with Ripon College at 1:00 Friday, September 28.
