Lake Forest Claims Five-Game Victory at Marian
Winning streak reaches four matches

Kendra Casey recorded a season-high 47 assists at Marian.
FOND DU LAC, WI - The Forester volleyball team traveled to Marian College Thursday (September 8) night and came away with a hard-fought 30-25, 21-30, 26-30, 30-23, 15-13 victory over the Sabres. It was Lake Forest’s fourth consecutive win after a pair of season-opening losses. Marian fell to 2-4.

Junior Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) and senior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) led the team in kills with 13 and 12, respectively. Balcerzak also led the squad with four blocks and Miller added 17 digs.

Junior setter Kendra Casey (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa West) tallied a season-high 47 assists in the contest and chipped in with three blocks and a pair of aces. Five players reached double figures in digs, led by freshman Lisa Sturgill’s (Sheboygan, WI/Sheboygan South) 29, the highest total by a Forester so far this season.

Lake Forest will play a pair of matches at Benedictine University on Saturday (September 10). The Foresters will take on North Central College at noon and the host Eagles at 2:00 p.m.
