Jacquie Vinje Named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Former Viterbo assistant and UW-Eau Claire graduate joins Forester staff

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College Athletic Director and Head Women's Basketball Coach Jackie Slaats has announced the addition of Jacquie Vinje to the women's basketball coaching staff.

Vinje, who will also serve as the assistant director of conferences at the College, replaces Lindsay Kabat, who will pursue career options outside of coaching.

In 2000-01, Vinje was an assistant women's basketball and volleyball coach at Viterbo University in Lacrosse, WI. During her one season at Viterbo, the women's basketball team produced an undefeated conference season, a conference tournament championship, and the school's first-ever trip to the NAIA Division II National Tournament.

Prior to entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Vinje spent two seasons as an assistant high school coach. In 1998-99, she served as a student assistant at Eau Claire North High School, and, in 1999-00, Vinje coached at her alma mater, Monona Grove High School.

Vinje is a 1999 graduate of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a coaching minor. She received her Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Wisconsin-Lacrosse in 2001.

While an undergraduate at UW-Eau Claire, Vinje helped the Blugolds to an NCAA Tournament appearance each season, including a trip to the national championship game in 1997. She served as team captain for her senior year and was named team rookie of the year as a freshman.

At Monona Grove High School, Vinje participated in varsity basketball, volleyball, and soccer. She was a 1994 WBCA All-Star and led her team to the WIAA state championship game.

Last season, Lake Forest compiled a 20-5 overall record. It was their fourth consecutive season with at least 20 wins. The team also claimed the Midwest Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
