2000-01 Coaching Staff
While a student-athlete for the Foresters, Kabat earned eight varsity letters - four each in basketball and soccer. She was the women's basketball team captain during both her junior and senior seasons and was named team Most Valuable Player and All-Midwest Conference during her senior year. The Foresters claimed the MWC Championship and advanced to the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament during Kabat's freshman season in 1993-94. During her playing days, Lake Forest recorded an overall record of 67-24 (.736), including a 40-16 (.714) MWC mark. The team won at least 16 games each season. Kabat finished her playing career on three of the school's all-time career school record lists. She ranked seventh in rebounding with 404, eighth in free throws made, and eighth in free throw percentage (73.9%). She currently ranks seventh in rebounding, tenth in free throws, and ninth on those respective lists. On the soccer field, Kabat was also a two-year team captain. She was named All-Midwest Conference each of her four seasons. When Kabat's soccer career came to an end, she was the third all-time leading scorer in school history with 70 points and second for career goals scored (32). She currently ranks fifth and fourth for career points and goals, respectively. The Foresters improved their overall and conference record each of Kabat's four seasons and compiled a 43-20-3 (.674) overall record, including a 34-6-0 (.850) Midwest Conference record. Kabat remained at Lake Forest after graduation and spent a year as an Admission Officer at the College, before beginning her collegiate coaching career at University of Chicago. Kabat's prior coaching experience also includes head coach of the Lake Effect Basketball U-13 AAU team in 1998, an individual skills trainer for the Lincolnshire Soccer U-13 Travel team, and as a summer camp counselor at the One Step Closer Basketball Camps from 1994-1999. Kabat earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and Spanish from
Lake Forest in 1997. While an undergraduate, she was a Nicholas J. Wasylik
Senior Athletic Award recipient and a Senior 25 member.
