Chuck Sheftel Named Head Coach of Forester Women’s Tennis Team
Professional tennis instructor takes over successful program

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College Athletic Director Jackie Slaats announced Friday (May 12) that Chuck Sheftel has accepted the position of Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Lake Forest College.

“Coach Sheftel will be a great addition to our staff,” Slaats begins. “He has the knowledge, coaching experience, and personality to lead our women’s tennis program to an even greater level of success.”

Sheftel is currently an independent professional tennis instructor as well as a service learning coordinator at numerous schools in the area.

Sheftel has 13 years of head coaching experience at the high school level. He directed the girls tennis team at Grayslake High School for three years while assisting on the boys squad. He also coached both the girls and boys programs at Highland Park High School for 10 seasons.

Sheftel graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Psychology.

“I’m very excited to be the next head coach at Lake Forest College,” begins Sheftel. “I’ve had experience coaching high school players and look forward to working with individuals at the collegiate level. This program has been successful and I hope we can build on those recent accomplishments and take the team to the next level.”
