Craig Leeper - Artifact Analysis

This artifact measures 3.5"x 2.5"x 1.25" and weighs about 2.5 lbs. It was made from a hard stone and has a half-inch groove circling the base where a wooden handle could have been attached. The object has an oval shaped base that tapers to a sharp point and still retains some of the polished finish that had once covered its entire surface. This artifact could have been used as a chopping tool or a weapon and the craftsmanship and time required to create this artifact would indicate that this was probably a highly prized possession.
