Game board and instructions for The Royall and Most Pleasant Game of Ye Goose

Virginia colonists, especially men, entertained themselves by placing stakes (bets) on everything from sports, to the weather; from trials to table games. Ye Goose, a board game invented in Rome, was well known in the English-speaking world. The game, which shares some similarities with Monopoly or Clue, has rules which were simple enough for everyone, even children, to master. Ye Goose was still popular in the nineteenth century.
