"I have been affected dramatically by McRAH. It has helped me recapture the spirit with which I began teaching."

Pictured Artifact:
In my hands is an Elgin pocket watch that was handcrafted near the end of the 19th century. In the picture, it is impossible to see the outer design of the watch: intricate, delicately carved leaves and hatching. The watch winds by the handle on the side, which always makes me wonder what people did when their watches ran down and they didn't know what time it was to reset it. Maybe they went outside and looked at the sun; I don't know. My favorite part of the watch is the tiny clock replica on the face instead of a minute hand. The pocket watch is similar in design to the one that my great-grandfather, Clarence "Doc" Schultz, owned when my father was a little boy.
