My
name is Genevieve Misfeldt and I am a junior at Lake
Forest College majoring in History
and Secondary
Education. This project has provided me an opportunity to blend
these two passions. I am fascinated by Brown and its lasting
legacy, especially since I hope to teach in the urban center of Chicago.
I believe one of my biggest responsibilities as an educator is to be an
advocate for my students. I am currently working in the Waukegan
Ninth Grade Center with a group of amazing and brilliant students!
Each time a man
stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes
out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple...that can sweep down the
mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

F. Kennedy, South Africa, 1965
My life here
at Lake Forest further reflects these interests--I am president of the
school's chapter of NEA (National Education
Association) and historian for Kappa Delta Pi
(an International Education Honor Society). Outside of Lake Forest,
I call Green Bay, Wisconsin, home.
GO PACK GO! When not lesson
planning or watching football, I love to travel, read, and spend time with
my family, friends, and four kitties.
