Coaching Staff Linebackers Coach/Special Teams Coordinator After graduating from Lake Forest College in May of 2000 and spending nearly a year-and-a-half away from the school, Bernie Perconti returned to his alma mater during the 2001 season and is now in his second year as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. As a Forester, Perconti played the linebacker position he now coaches and put his name among the best to ever play defense at Lake Forest. His 1998 total of 114 tackles is still the fifth-highest in school history while his 19 tackles-for-loss the following year is second. For his career, Perconti ranks tied for third in the Forester record books with 31 tackles-for-loss and fifth with 14 sacks. Perconti earned First Team All-Midwest Conference
honors in both 1998 and 1999. After an Honorable Mention All-American season
in 1998, he captained the 1999 squad to Lake Forest's best record since
1986 and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player.
