ST. LOUIS, MO - After two days of intense competition, the Lake Forest College swimming and diving teams left St. Louis with a second-place men's finish and a fourth-place women's finish in the Washington University Thanksgiving Invitational. Washington had both the first-place men's and women's teams in this weekend's (November 17-18th) meet.

Of the 489 points scored by the women's team, the quartet of senior Randi Estes (LaBelle, FL/Riverdale), juniors Erin Motzer (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) and Erin Poynter (Fort Collins, CO/Ft. Collins), and freshman Emily Woods (Signal Mountain, TN/Girls Prep) accounted for 307.

Estes led the way, scoring 85 points highlighted by runner-up finishes in the 500-yard freestyle (5:22.97) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.20). Motzer finished second on the squad with 80 points and second in the meet in the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.36), with Woods scoring the team's lone first-place finish in the same event (2:18.65). Poynter and the other three each swam in three of the five relays, which all placed in the top four in the meet.

On the men's side, their 444 points were a little more spread out.

Sophomore Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis) accounted for 82.5 of them with four top-six finishes, including a runner-up performance in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.40). Junior Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy) also placed in the top six in all four of his events. Junior Eric Boarini (Wadsworth, IL/Carmel) accounted for the team's other second-place finish with his 22.82 50-yard freestyle. Sophomores Aaron Lawlor (Vernon Hills, IL/Libertyville), Joe Isaacs (Shorewood, MN/Breck) and Jeremy Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) also scored more than 50 points each.

After a couple of weeks of training, the Foresters will be back in the pool for a meet when they compete in the Wheaton Invite on December 7-8th. It will be the final meet before the end of the fall semester.
