October 25, 2008 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Foresters Split Pair of Five-Set Conference Matches at Home over the Weekend
Senior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) recorded a match-high 15 kills on Friday and added 19 digs and three blocks. Sophomore Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) led the Foresters with 20 assists and chipped in with 11 digs. Senior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led all players in the match with 39 digs and freshman Emily Seaman (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) added a dozen. Cretacci led Lake Forest again with 13 kills and added three more blocks against Monmouth. Junior Nicole Leonard was next on the squad with 10 kills and she finished with a .400 hitting percentage and 14 digs. Blanchard and senior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) recorded a team-high 17 assists apiece and Blanchard added four aces. Sturgill recorded 32 digs and three aces and Seaman added another 10 digs. Sophomore Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) led the team with six blocks. The Foresters have two more matches, both against fellow MWC teams, left on their regular season schedule. Lake Forest will play at Knox College Tuesday night (October 28) at 7:00 before hosting Ripon College Saturday (November 1) at 1:00 p.m. Live video webcasts of both matches will be available at www.midwestconference.tv.
