Contact: Scott Rucker, SID The Foresters ".played a well rounded match," according to Head Coach Beth Pier, who added, "We moved them around the court extremely well with our serve." Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic High School) led the team with 15 kills and 3 blocks. Junior Sarah Frantz (Lake Geneva, WI/Badger H.S.) contributed 39 assists, senior Jessie Griffin (Beecher, IL/Marian Catholic H.S.) had 10 kills and 4 aces, while Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic H.S.) and Mary Gerke (Bend, OR/Mountain View H.S.) added 13 digs apiece. Versus Benedictine, sophomore Angela Lagerman (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls H.S.) tied her own school record with 9 total blocks (4 solo, 5 assists) in the four-game match. All her blocks came in the last three games. "With Angela leading the way by altering and blocking so many balls, we played a very good defensive match," Pier added. The Foresters got 10 or more kills from three different players - Griffin (12), Reinboldt (11), and junior Amanda Taylor (Chico, CA/Pleasant Valley H.S.) (10) - and 44 assists from Frantz, who also added 3 aces and 11 digs. Reinboldt had a .381 hitting percentage. Pier also credited sophomore Jennifer Hooton (Bellaire, TX/Bellaire) with a solid contribution off the bench. Lake Forest will be idle this weekend and back in action on Tuesday, September 21st at Judson College. |
