Nicole Baich Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Sophomore led Foresters in kills in four straight matches

Nicole Baich has at least tied for the team lead in kills 11 times in 16 matches this season.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College volleyball player Nicole Baich (Westchester, IL/Nazareth Academy) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (September 29) for her contributions to the team’s 3-1 record in the last seven days.

Baich, a sophomore middle blocker, led Lake Forest in kills in each of the team’s three victories in last weekend’s (September 24-25) Midwest Conference Crossover. She had 15 in a four-game win over Ripon College and a dozen in a three-game triumph over Carroll College on Saturday. She also recorded 16 on Sunday in a five-game victory over defending league champion St. Norbert College. Her posted a .306 hitting percentage on the weekend, led the team with 11 blocks, and added four aces and 13 digs.

On Tuesday (September 27) Baich tied for the team lead with nine kills, including her 200th of the season, in a three-game loss to UW-Whitewater, the nation’s eighth-ranked team. She lead the Foresters with 204 kills and 49 blocks on the year.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by members of the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
