Grubbs named one of ten finalists for the Jostens Trophy.Junior guard Alison Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point H.S.) was named as one of ten female finalists for the Jostens Trophy, given annually to the outstanding Division III men's and women's basketball players in the country. The award will be presented on March 16th to the athletes that only excel on the court, but also show outstanding qualities in the classroom and prove to be invaluable assets to their communities.

McCants back in action. After missing seven games with a knee injury, freshman forward Katie McCants (Menasha, WI/Menasha H.S.) has returned to the Forester's line-up in time for the playoffs. McCants has seen limited action in the last three games, most recently an eight point effort in eight minutes versus Ripon on Feb. 16th. For the season, McCants is producing 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 56.3% from the field, and finished the MWC regular season as the top field goal shooter in the league at 61.2%.

Balanced offensive attack.Although Alison Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point H.S.) is the only Forester averaging in double figures for points, the Foresters have many weapons on the offensive end of the floor. Lake Forest has five other players averaging between 7.4 and 9.5 ppg -- Melissa Schneider (Arlington Heights, IL/Hersey H.S.), 9.5; Addi Murphy (Chillicothe, IL/Illinois Valley Central H.S.), 9.2; Katie McCants (Menasha, WI/Menasha H.S.), 8.7; Karla Gribble (Mineral Point, WI/Mineral Point H.S.), 7.9; and Kim Magee (Lake Oswego, OR/Lake Oswego H.S.), 7.4.
