"I have been affected dramatically by McRAH. It has helped me recapture the spirit with which I began teaching."

Pictured Artifact:
This antique gun belonged to my great-great-grandfather George Lord. He fought in the Meir Expedition in Texas around the 1800's. The battle was against Santa Anna. George Lord was captured by Santa's men and imprisoned. He was placed in a Mexican jail with other Texans. Santa Anna didn't want to kill all these prisoners. Therefore, he placed black and white beans into a pot and had each man draw. My great-great-grandfather drew a white bean, which allowed him to live and also gave him his freedom.
Today his picture hangs in the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
