Foresters Drop Midwest Conference Opener at Carroll
Team will compete at UW-Platteville Invitational this weekend

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Lake Forest College volleyball team fell 30-25, 30-22, 30-26 at Carroll College Wednesday (September 26) night. The Foresters are now 4-9 overall on the season and 0-1 in Midwest Conference play. The Lady Pioneers raised their overall record to 8-6 and their conference mark to 3-0.

Junior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) led Lake Forest with nine kills in the match and senior Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was second with eight. Junior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) finished with a team-high 19 assists.

Defensively, junior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led the visitors with 27 digs and senior Merissa Martin (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) and sophomore Regina Cyvas (Downers Grove, Ill./Benet Academy) added 12 and 11, respectively. Freshman Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was in on four blocks and Cretacci three.

Lake Forest will compete in the UW-Platteville Invitational this weekend (September 28-29). The Foresters will face UW-Stout (6:00) and UW-Eau Claire (8:00) Friday night before taking on the hosts (10:00 a.m.) and Cornell College (noon) on Saturday.
